Just announced - The Job Retention Scheme for employees is to be extended to 31/10/20 on the following basis:
June and July - no change
August - JRS will still cover 80% of wages but employers will have to pay the National Insurance and Pension Contribution September - JRS will cover 70% of wages October - JRS will cover 60% of wages
31/10/20 - scheme ends
From 1/7/20 (and not 1/8/20 as originally announced), the furlough scheme will become flexible so employers will be able to bring back staff part-time e.g. an employee could come back and be paid for 2 days' work and receive 3 days furlough payment The scheme will close to new entrants from 10/6/20 which means that you cannot put staff on a new furlough after this date Self-employed scheme will be extended to 31/10/20 too with a second grant being available in August but this grant will be based on 70% of average profits compared to 80% on the May claim (up to maximum of £6,570).
